2020 Junior Golf Beginner Program
The 2020 Junior Golf Beginner Program dates have been set. After our first year of reviving the junior program at Old Avalon, we are looking to grow upon last year’s participation of 55 kids. Golf is a great sport for these youngsters to learn that can be played throughout their lifetime.
The junior program at Old Avalon not only instructs our young participants how to play the game, it teaches other lessons such as proper etiquette on the golf course, respect for your fellow competitor, honesty, and good sportsmanship. We believe this goes a long way in their future as they grow as individuals.
This year’s program will be on Thursday mornings beginning June 18th. Youngstown State University Women’s Head Golf Coach Nate Miklos will be assisting with the program this year.

Advanced Junior Program
Junior golfers who desire to play golf in high school or college will be interested in this new program in 2020. We will focus on improving a junior golfer’s ability to shoot better scores through more advanced swing techniques. Participants will learn course management as well. Dates will be set soon.
Old Avalon Golf Course is participating in the PGA Jr. League season and we want YOU on our team! PGA Jr. League is a fun and welcoming way for kids to learn and play golf. The entire family can also enjoy the team environment of the program at the same time.
PGA Jr. League is a game-changing opportunity for boys and girls to learn and play golf and we’re excited to offer it to our community!
How does PGA Jr. League work?
At its core, PGA Jr. League is a group of local golf teams who play a series of games against each other, utilizing a nurturing and social scramble format. PGA and LPGA Professionals exclusively serve as Captains and are responsible for creating a welcoming environment for all that encourages skill and character development.
